Community Engagement

  • Do you know what a watershed council is?

From September 2024 through August 2025 we will be hosting four public events to create awareness about who we are, what we do and how we can partner with you!

Check our calendar and sign up for our newsletter for dates and event descriptions!

  • The NWC and Consejo Hispano have partnered to develop game changing engagement and education opportunities for the north coast's Latinx population.

Youth education programming, adult workshops and Spanish language materials are just some of the projects we are creating together!

In August of 2024, the NWC and Consejo Hispano entered a Memorandum of Agreement focused on prioritizing foundational shifts in conservation that create meaningful and impactful participatory opportunities for our Latinx community members.

  • We've partnered with the Oregon Bottle Drop to make Cans for Coho, our can and bottle drive initiative that turns trash into critical funds for our organization.

Each second Saturday we have a can and bottle drive at our office in downtown Seaside, we partner with local businesses to collect cans and bottles and with local events like Hood to Coast.

We are always looking for Cans for Coho volunteers!

Our Community Initiatives

We work closely with a variety of groups such as Oregon BottleDrop, the Chinook Indian Nation, neighboring Watershed Councils and Land Trusts, local and state agencies, and organizations providing services to our most at-risk and underrepresented communities, to increase our reach within our community and ensure inclusivity and equity are at the foundation of everything we do.
